Wilmar Engineering Apprenticeship Opportunities 2025

Wilmar South Africa is offering Engineering Apprenticeship opportunities for Apprentice Electricians, Millwrights, and Instrument Mechanicians. Candidates must have Matric with Mathematics and a relevant N3 Engineering qualification. The programme includes structured artisan training, a monthly stipend, PPE, and workplace experience. Closing date: 24 June 2025.


Wilmar South Africa is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for Apprenticeship opportunities within its Engineering Department. These fixed-term training contracts provide an excellent opportunity for aspiring artisans to gain practical workplace experience and work towards a recognized trade qualification in a professional manufacturing environment.

The company is currently recruiting for the following apprenticeship programmes:

Available Opportunities

  • Apprentice Electrician (Fixed Term Contract)
  • Apprentice Millwright (Fixed Term Contract)
  • Apprentice Instrument Mechanician (Fixed Term Contract)

Successful candidates will participate in structured training programmes designed to equip them with the technical knowledge and practical skills required to qualify as artisans in their respective trades.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must possess:

  • A Senior Certificate (Matric) with:
    • English passed with a minimum of 50%
    • Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy) passed with a minimum of 40%

AND

  • A National N3 Certificate (Engineering Studies) relevant to the trade being applied for, including:
    • Engineering Science
    • Mathematics
    • Relevant trade theory subjects
    • Additional technical subjects such as Technical Drawings, Industrial Electronics, Electrical Technology, Electro Techniques, Mechano Techniques, Instrumentation Trade Theory, or related engineering subjects

All required N3 subjects must be passed with a minimum of 50%.

  • Qualification certificates
  • Academic records or statements of results showing subject marks
