Are you a freshly qualified Mechanical Engineering graduate looking to launch your career with one of the world’s leading energy companies? TotalEnergies Marketing South Africa (Pty) Ltd is offering an exciting Graduate Programme opportunity based at their Johannesburg — Biermann Avenue offices. This is your chance to gain real-world, hands-on experience across operations, commercial management, and network performance optimisation in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.

About the Opportunity

TotalEnergies is a globally recognised energy company committed to developing the next generation of engineering and business talent. Through this Graduate Programme, you will be immersed in a multi-disciplinary environment that bridges technical engineering work with commercial business exposure — giving you a well-rounded foundation to grow into a high-performing professional.

This is not a passive, desk-bound graduate role. You will be actively involved in live projects, process improvement initiatives, and operational decision-making from day one.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

Safety is at the heart of everything TotalEnergies does. As a Young Graduate, you will promote and support a strong safety-first culture across all operations, ensure adherence to company HSE standards, policies, and applicable legislation, identify and report safety risks and near-miss incidents, and support emergency response processes.

Operations & Engineering Support

You will participate in engineering, production, and quality improvement projects, conduct time and motion studies to improve efficiency and productivity, support the implementation of Lean and 5S methodologies across departments, assist with Value Stream Mapping to identify and eliminate inefficiencies, and provide operational support during plant and performance improvement initiatives.

Commercial & Business Exposure

Beyond the technical side, this programme offers meaningful commercial exposure. You will support the management of dealer relationships and service station operations, assist in monitoring performance indicators, contribute to operational and commercial decision-making, and gain exposure to contract management, financial performance, and site optimisation.

Learning & Development

You will build strong cross-functional relationships across the business, develop your problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills, and progressively take on greater accountability as you grow within the organisation.

What TotalEnergies Is Looking For

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A proactive, self-driven attitude with a genuine willingness to learn
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
