About the Role
As a Labour Law Consultant, you will be the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients, guiding them through a wide spectrum of Industrial Relations matters. You will be responsible for retaining and servicing clients while ensuring they remain compliant with South African labour legislation. Your caseload will range from day-to-day IR issues to complex, high-stakes matters requiring specialist intervention.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Chairing disciplinary inquiries and drafting judgements on behalf of clients
- Assisting with the issuing of warnings to ensure legislative compliance
- Drafting and implementing workplace policies and procedures
- Conducting scheduled client contact to maintain strong service relationships
- Managing wage negotiations and facilitating strike management processes
- Advising on and executing retrenchment processes in line with the Labour Relations Act
This is a fast-paced, client-facing role that will expose you to a diverse range of industries across South Africa, accelerating your professional growth far more rapidly than a traditional internal compliance role would.
What You’ll Need
To be considered for this position, you must meet the following requirements:
- A 3-year B. Degree or equivalent qualification in HR, Industrial Relations, LLB, or a related field
- A minimum of 1 year’s experience in Industrial Relations
- A genuine eagerness to deepen your understanding and application of labour law
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced working environment
- A valid driver’s licence and own vehicle (essential)
