PEP, South Africa’s largest single-brand retailer with more than 2600 stores across Southern Africa, is offering a hands-on graduate opportunity in Energy and Utility Management. This role suits a technically minded graduate who wants real corporate exposure to electrical systems, data analysis, and infrastructure support within a fast-paced retail environment.

No prior expert-level experience is expected. PEP is looking for a dedicated learner who is eager to support its technical management team and grow within the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Handling store beverage fridges, including callouts and replacements
• Identifying fridge replacement needs and preparing documentation for approval
• Analysing electricity usage data and reporting on consumption anomalies
• Assisting with centre backup power proposals
• Assisting with generator replacement projects
• Handling calls related to store amplifiers and speakers

What You Will Do

Infrastructure Support: Manage store fridge callouts, replacements, and amplifier/speaker support across the store network.

Data Analysis: Monitor and report on electricity usage, identifying consumption anomalies and trends.

Project Assistance: Support the preparation of backup power and generator replacement proposals.

Process Improvement: Identify equipment replacement needs and assist with approval documentation.

Minimum Requirements

• Diploma or Degree with a technical focus in Electrical Engineering
• Knowledge of refrigeration would be an advantage
• South African citizen, aged 18 – 32
• Computer literate (MS Office, Google Suite)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High degree of detail orientation and conscientiousness
• Strong problem-solving ability and resourcefulness
• Able to work well in a team and deliver on deadlines
