The Office of the Chief Justice invites unemployed youth to apply for entry-level Data Capturer positions within the Gauteng Division of the High Court in Pretoria. About the Role

Data Capturers play a critical administrative role in supporting the smooth running of court operations. Successful candidates will be responsible for capturing data from court records into databases and spreadsheets, verifying and validating information, and maintaining accurate files and registers. The role also involves supporting court proceedings directly, including capturing the court roll, recording proceedings, monitoring recording equipment, and transferring recordings to site servers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Capture and verify data from court records into required formats
  • Review, validate, and back up data on a regular basis
  • Maintain and secure records and files
  • Send and receive emails and provide information to relevant components
  • Report IT faults to the helpdesk and assist with diagnosing equipment issues
  • Capture the court roll and pre-schedule cases ahead of proceedings
  • Record court proceedings and related annotations for each case
  • Search for and manage postponed cases
  • Transfer court recordings to the site server at regular intervals
  • Scan and save documents as required
  • Sort and distribute incoming data for capturing
  • Open, update, and maintain files, registers, and statistics

Requirements

Applicants must have a Grade 12 certificate. No prior experience is required, although a diploma or degree will be advantageous. A valid driver’s licence will also serve as an added advantage.
