Philips is offering an excellent opportunity for graduates to launch a career in field service and technical support through its Field Service Graduate Intern (CG20) programme, based in Johannesburg. This role is ideal for a recent Electrical Engineering graduate looking to gain hands-on experience with a global health-technology leader.
About the Role
As a Field Service Graduate Intern, you will provide basic technical support, both onsite and remotely, and assist with troubleshooting Philips products. Working under supervision, you’ll help resolve technical issues in line with company guidelines and safety protocols, while building the foundational skills needed to grow into a senior field service role.
The internship is structured to give graduates broad exposure to installations, routine maintenance, and customer-facing service work, all while learning from experienced technicians and following established standard operating procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform basic and routine technical support and troubleshooting for customers under supervision
- Follow detailed instructions and safety protocols to ensure proper product functioning
- Execute varied assignments using pre-defined standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Work under supervision, following clear instructions and escalating deviations appropriately
- Accurately document service records, diagnostics, parts used, and customer interactions via the Service Management System
- Respond professionally to customer inquiries and complaints, escalating complex issues to senior technicians or team leads
- Support senior technicians during installations and repairs by providing tools and following their guidance
- Participate actively in training sessions to build technical skills and stay current on products and procedures
Minimum Requirements
- National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- No prior experience required
