About the programme
The Changeblazers bursary goes beyond tuition. It offers comprehensive support for students from under-resourced backgrounds, covering full tuition, accommodation, meals and learning materials, along with private tutoring, career guidance, resilience training, mental health support and financial wellbeing sessions. Top performers can also access assistance with obtaining a driver’s licence and an all-expenses-paid Gathering in Cape Town, while graduates receive work wardrobes to help them start their first jobs.

Who can apply
To be considered for the 2027 intake, applicants must:
- Be South African citizens under the age of 21 in 2027
- Plan to study full time at a South African university in one of the fields listed above
- Meet the minimum entry requirements for their chosen course
- Show leadership potential
- Have preferably achieved at least 70% in English and Mathematics or Science in Grade 11
- Maintain strong academic performance
- Demonstrate financial need, typically a household income of less than R600,000 per year (mitigating circumstances will be taken into account where applicable)
