Land Bank is inviting young, unemployed South African graduates to apply for its Learner Programme in Banking, based in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. This is a 24-month fixed-term structured learning opportunity designed to give graduates meaningful workplace exposure and help them build careers in their field of study.

About the Programme

The Learnership Programme combines structured learning with practical, on-the-job experience. Over the course of 24 months, learners will be paired with a mentor who guides their development, exposes them to real work in their specialised area, and supports access to relevant training opportunities. The programme is built to help graduates translate academic knowledge into workplace competence while gaining genuine, hands-on experience.

Land Bank is looking for enthusiastic, energetic graduates with a can-do attitude who want to contribute to South Africa’s agricultural sector and grow within a dynamic, purpose-driven environment.

Who Should Apply

Applicants must:

  • Be South African citizens
  • Be between 18 and 35 years old
  • Hold a relevant three-year tertiary qualification in one of the critical fields listed below
  • Have no prior work experience following completion of their studies

Qualifying fields of study include:

  • LLB
  • Agricultural Economics
  • Banking
  • Finance or Accounting
  • BSc Agriculture
  • Agri Business or Commerce
  • Economics
  • Business Management

Applicants must not have any prior learnership, internship, or work-related experience relevant to their qualification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Completing allocated duties professionally, as directed by an assigned mentor
  • Actively developing skills and knowledge within the chosen field of specialisation
  • Supporting administrative functions as allocated
  • Conducting research and compiling reports, memorandums, and presentations

Competencies Required

Successful candidates will demonstrate strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication. The role calls for a deadline-driven, energetic, and enthusiastic individual who shows initiative, strong interpersonal skills, and sound problem-solving ability. Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint is essential.

Additional Requirements

Learners should be willing to work extended hours when needed and travel as required by the programme.
