Based in Melrose, Johannesburg, this is a 12-month learnership designed to develop the next generation of cybersecurity professionals through structured training, hands-on exposure, and preparation for the globally recognised CompTIA Security+ certification.
About the Programme
The Anglo American International Cybersecurity Early Careers Programme gives learners the opportunity to work alongside experienced cybersecurity professionals within one of the world’s leading mining and resources companies. Throughout the programme, participants will gain practical exposure across several key cybersecurity disciplines, including:
- Cyber Threat Intelligence
- Security Operations
- Digital Forensics & Investigations
- Cyber Risk Management
- Human Cyber Risk & Awareness

Key Responsibilities
As a learner on this programme, you will:
- Learn how cybersecurity teams monitor systems and detect threats in real time
- Analyse security alerts and assist with investigations under expert supervision
- Gather and summarise cyber threat intelligence to support proactive defence
- Practice digital evidence collection and learn forensic investigation methodologies
- Support cybersecurity awareness campaigns and online safety training materials
- Assist in analysing human behavioural risks within the organisation
- Complete structured coursework aligned to the CompTIA Security+ certification examination
Minimum Requirements
To be eligible for the Cybersecurity Learnership 2026, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have completed Grade 12
- Have passed Mathematics and Science at school level
- Demonstrate a genuine interest in cybersecurity and information security
- Possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Have good communication and teamwork skills
- Be willing to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly
- Have strong written and spoken English skills
No prior work experience in IT or cybersecurity is required — Anglo American is looking for motivated, curious learners who are eager to grow.
