About the Role
This temporary graduate trainee position sits within the Information & Communications Technology department at Feltex’s Head Office. The successful candidate will be exposed to a wide range of IT functions — from desktop and remote support to IT project management, continuous improvement initiatives, and access control administration. Working alongside experienced IT professionals, you will contribute to the effective management and protection of the company’s technology investment while developing practical skills that will serve as a strong foundation for your long-term career in IT.
Key Responsibilities
In the area of IT Strategy, you will provide desktop and remote support to end users across the business. Within IT Management, you will assist in protecting, securing, and managing the organisation’s IT assets effectively. You will support the identification, initiation, and management of IT projects aligned with business objectives and the Group IT Strategy, help ensure standardisation of software, hardware, development tools, and database architectures across business units, and assist in managing the acquisition of IT equipment and maintenance contracts.
Under Continuous Improvement, you will help identify and define new IT requirements that give rise to project establishment, and assist in managing the rollout of continuous improvement initiatives. In the Access Control space, you will support the management of Feltex Automotive’s Access Control and Time & Attendance system policies, and provide input to the Payroll Function on access control matters. On the Administration side, you will assist in compiling IT reports and validating service and supplier invoices, including those for cell phones and copiers.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must hold a completed BSc in Computer Science or an equivalent diploma, and must demonstrate strong academic performance. Superior English communication skills — reading, writing, and speaking — are essential, as are strong interpersonal skills and a keen attention to detail. Full proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint) is required.
