About the Programme

The Grindrod Youth Internship Programme is aimed at developing young talent by giving unemployed graduates practical work experience across various functions of the business. The programme supports Grindrod’s commitment to transformation, skills development and building a strong pipeline of future talent.

Over 24 months, successful candidates will gain hands-on exposure to a major logistics and infrastructure company, working alongside experienced professionals and building skills that employers look for.

Internships are available in the following functional areas:

• Maritime and logistics
• Containers
• Bulk
• Rail
• Supply chain and procurement
• Safety, Health, Environment, Risk and Quality (SHERQ)
• Human resources
• Finance
• Quality management
• Electrical engineering
• Mechanical engineering
• Communications
• Public relations

Minimum Requirements

• South African citizen
• Aged between 18 and 32 years
• Unemployed and available for the full internship period
• Completed diploma or degree in one of the functional areas listed above
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
