The Hollywood Foundation has opened applications for its Future is Bright bursary programme for the 2027 academic year, offering holistic support to South African students as part of the organisation’s commitment to addressing the country’s critical skills shortage and developing a capable future workforce.

Fields of Study Covered

Bursaries are available for Undergraduate (Higher Certificate, Diploma or Degree) and Postgraduate studies in the following fields:

• Information Technology / Computer Science
• Data Science
• Finance / Accounting
• BCom (Law)
• Marketing (including Digital Marketing and Communications)
• Media & Communications
• Graphic Design
• Supply Chain / Logistics Management
• Project Management
• Business Management
• Human Resources Management
• Architectural Design

What the Bursary Covers

Successful applicants will have the following pre-approved costs covered:

• Registration fees
• Tuition fees
• Prescribed textbooks and study materials
• Accommodation and living assistance

Requirements

To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Must be a South African citizen
• Must not be an employee of Hollywoodbets, or an immediate family member of an employee of Hollywoodbets or its related entities, including BetSoftware, Hollywood Foundation, Race Coast and other Hollywood Group companies (employees and their relatives must complete a separate application form)
• Must be enrolled for full-time studies during the 2027 academic year
• Open to 2026 matriculants, previous matriculants on a gap year, and students currently enrolled at a DHET/CHE-accredited university or registered private higher education institution. TVET College students are not eligible
• Must be studying towards a Higher Certificate, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, Honours Degree or Postgraduate Diploma. The bursary does not sponsor Masters, PhD or other senior qualifications
• Grade 12 applicants must have obtained a Bachelor’s Pass with a minimum overall average of 65%
• Current tertiary students must have achieved a minimum academic average of 60% in their most recent completed academic year
