Komatsu South Africa is offering two exciting graduate-level opportunities at its Germiston operations, giving newly qualified engineers a structured route into the mining, construction, and earthmoving equipment sector. Both programmes are built around hands-on training, mentorship, and exposure to real projects within one of the industry’s most established equipment providers.

1. Engineering Graduate Intern

Based within Komatsu’s Remanufacturing department in Germiston, this training role provides a solid foundation in engineering principles through practical application. Trainees are introduced to Komatsu’s KAfH methodologies and the company’s broader operating culture, working within the framework of SLQDC (Safety, Legal, Quality, Delivery, Cost) and the Komatsu Way.

What the Role Involves

  • Structured on-the-job training aligned with each stage of the programme
  • Drafting own project and assignment progress reports
  • Rotational placements across the remanufacturing facility, suppliers, and customer sites
  • Exposure to the mining, construction, and mobile equipment industry

Qualifications and Requirements

  • BSc Degree or B-Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Proficiency in MS Office

Competencies Required

  • Teamwork, active listening, results orientation, openness to feedback, strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to prioritise work and execute to standard
