About the Programme
This is a 6-month fixed-term programme designed to build critical future skills within Mondi’s workforce through structured training and development. Participants who successfully complete the programme will be recognised as competent entry-level operators within the organisation.

Minimum Requirements
- Diploma in Chemical Engineering and/or Pulp & Paper Technology
- Achieved a 60% average pass rate
- Must require P1 and P2 practical work experience to complete the qualification
- Completed P1 and P2 practical work experience in a heavy industry will be an added advantage
- Valid South African driver’s licence
What You’ll Gain
Through this programme, participants will develop basic skills in SAP and Microsoft systems to navigate Mondi’s training platforms, along with chemical safety knowledge. Trainees will perform entry-level production tasks including housekeeping, pre-start checks, and assistance with plant start-ups and shutdowns. Other responsibilities include completing routine checks to minimise failures, ensuring safe process operation in line with Mondi policy and procedures, engaging with the production team on equipment performance issues, and performing basic troubleshooting.

Upon completion, participants will have acquired the necessary skills and abilities in:
- Process operation and optimisation at entry level
- Safety compliance and quality control at entry level
- Completing daily checklists and reports
- Equipment operation relevant to the entry-level position
