This permanent, TS5-graded role reports to the Manager: Airworthiness Data IT & Records. The successful candidate will coordinate and administer MIS, business systems, and aviation IT functions within SAAT, supporting network, IT security, and AMOS administration to optimise information systems across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Provide data analysis for MIS-related systems, recommending and coordinating system enhancements and implementation. Plan and coordinate preparatory data insertion requirements for new aircraft. Ensure sustained implementation of the MIS through ongoing administration and monitoring of IT requirements. Audit, monitor, and produce data reports to verify functionality of existing procedures. Coordinate information systems change requirements with the IT department and external parties. Analyse and escalate user IT problems where necessary. Perform IT and MIS business administrator functions, including basic tables, configurations, and parameters. Liaise with system users and the IT department to develop and improve MIS business processes and software requirements.
Additional duties include initiating and chairing meetings to coordinate cross-departmental MIS activities, maintaining records and inventory of IT peripherals, arranging mainframe data downloads and conversions to a Windows-based environment, and coordinating IT asset refreshments including laptops, printers, and other peripherals. The role also involves developing IT training programmes for SAAT staff, supporting SAAT users on IT requirements and projects, assisting with IT budget development, distributing scheduled MIS reports, and providing 24-hour IT and MIS support to all sections.
Qualifications & Experience
Grade 12 is essential. Candidates must meet one of the following:
- A certified aviation technician with 5 years’ certification experience, plus a qualification in IT
- N6 or higher diploma in Information Technology, with 5 years in an IT environment
- An appointed business systems or data analyst with 4 years’ experience in an aircraft maintenance IT environment or MIS
An AMOS Administrator Diploma is essential. A+ and N+ qualifications or courses are advantageous.
Knowledge & Skills
Advanced written and verbal communication skills are required, along with advanced computer skills. Intermediate knowledge of office automation products, databases, and remote control systems is needed.
