About the Programme
The Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) Technology division is the engine behind Standard Bank’s Global Markets, Transaction Banking, and Investment Banking operations. From algorithmic trading to complex structured products, CIB Technology drives the digital infrastructure that keeps Africa’s financial ecosystem moving.
This 18-month graduate programme is designed to transform technically strong graduates into thought leaders and trusted advisors. You will rotate across the full CIB Technology business lifecycle — gaining hands-on exposure to analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment, as well as live production operations, maintenance, and support.
You will work with an impressive technology stack that includes Java, Python, Angular, GO, C, C#, C++, Salesforce, Murex, Calypso, Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes, SQL databases (Oracle, Sybase, MS SQL Server, MongoDB), Matlab, GIT, Bitbucket, JIRA, Confluence, and enterprise tools such as AWS, Microsoft Power Automate, and Co-pilot — technologies increasingly central to the bank’s evolving ecosystem.
Upon completing the programme, you will have the knowledge, skills, and practical experience to launch a meaningful career within CIB Technology and contribute directly to the success of the Standard Bank Group.

Qualifications Required
Applicants must hold or be completing a postgraduate qualification in 2026 in one of the following fields:
Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Electronic Engineering, Mathematics / Applied Mathematics / Financial Mathematics, Statistics, Informatics / Information Systems, Software Development, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Data Science, or Quantitative Risk Management.
Minimum Requirements
- South African citizen
- Under 30 years of age
- No more than two years of work experience
- Minimum 65% academic average across all years of study
- University transcripts must be uploaded with your application
