65 Internship Opportunities | Department of Co-operative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs (Limpopo) | 2026/2027 – 2027/2028

The Limpopo Department of Co-operative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs is recruiting 65 unemployed graduates for a 24-month internship programme across multiple disciplines. Monthly stipends range from R6 659 to R11 582. Closing date: 24 April 2026.


The Department of Co-operative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs (CoGHSTA) — Limpopo Provincial Government — is inviting applications from unemployed graduates residing in Limpopo Province to apply for 65 fixed-period Internship posts spanning the 2026/2027 and 2027/2028 financial years.

About the Internship Programme

The CoGHSTA Internship Programme offers unemployed graduates a 24-month fixed-period placement — non-extendable — across a broad range of functional units within the Department. This is a structured workplace experience opportunity designed to equip young graduates with practical, public-sector exposure in their field of study.

Successful interns will receive a monthly stipend as follows:

  • NQF Level 5 (N6): R6 659.36 per month
  • NQF Level 6: R7 860.39 per month
  • NQF Level 9: R9 482.11 per month
  • NQF Level 10: R11 582.55 per month

Areas of Placement & Minimum Qualifications Required

The 65 internship posts span the following functional areas, each requiring a minimum three-year qualification (unless otherwise specified) in the relevant field of study:

Information Communication Technology (ICT) Services — ICT Security, ICT Governance & Projects, ICT Infrastructure, Systems Development, ICT Infrastructure (Procurement), and Resource Centre & Knowledge Management. Qualifications required include Computer Science, with certifications such as MCSE, MCITP, CCNA, A+, N+ an added advantage for infrastructure roles.

Records & Facilities — Library Science, Information Management Studies, Archival Studies.

Human Resource Management — HR Records & General Records; Facilities & Office Services; Special Programmes & Diversity Management; Batho Pele; Communication Services; Organisational Development & HR Planning; HR Administration & Employee Wellness; HRD & Performance Management; Labour Relations; Recruitment & Selection; Employee Assistance Programme (EAP); OHS; and HR Planning, Information & Systems. Qualifications required span HRM, Public Management, Social Science, Labour Relations Law, and related disciplines.

Strategic & Governance Functions — Security Management Services, Strategic Planning, Research & Policy Coordination, Quality Assurance & Monitoring/Evaluation, MEC Support, HOD Support, Legal Services, and Democratic Governance. Relevant qualifications include LLB, Public Management, Business Management, International Relations, and related fields.

Human Settlements — Human Settlements Technical Services Support; Human Settlements Planning; Human Settlements Performance Reporting; Human Settlements Programme & Projects (Region A & B — Waterberg, Sekhukhune, Capricorn, Mopani & Vhembe); Property Management; Capacity Development & Needs Analysis; and Subsidy Administration, Contracts, Claims & Housing. Qualifications include Civil Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Building Science, Real Estate/Property Management, and Public Administration.

Risk, Compliance & Finance — Risk Management, Anti-Fraud & Corruption Management, Internal Control & Compliance, Financial Accounting/Local Government Finance, Municipal Performance Monitoring & Evaluation, Deeds Services, Financial Accounting & Administration, Supply Chain Management, Management Accounting, Anthropology & Institutional Support, and House of Traditional Leaders. Qualifications span Accounting, Auditing, BCom, Supply Chain Management, Public Administration, and related fields.

Municipal Support & Governance — Municipal Infrastructure Delivery Programmes, Strategic Spatial Development, Disaster Management & Fire Services, Integrated Development Planning Coordination, Local Economic Development, Community Development, Municipal Institutional Capacity Building, and Municipal Finance. Qualifications include Public Management, Civil Engineering, Town/Urban & Regional Planning, Economics, Fire Technology, and BCom Accounting/Financial Management.


Who Should Apply

  • Unemployed graduates from Limpopo Province
  • Qualifying in one of the fields of study listed above (NQF Level 5 to 10)
  • Not previously employed by any government institution
  • Not having previously completed an internship in any government department
  • Members of SANCO or CIVIC associations are not eligible to apply
