About the Role
Eskom invites qualified and passionate Chemical Technicians to join our Research, Testing & Development Division (RT&D) at the Rosherville Oil Laboratory.
In this role, you’ll apply your expertise in chemistry, instrumentation, and data analysis to help solve complex chemical science problems and support engineers in diagnosing plant-related issues. You’ll play an important role in maintaining Eskom’s commitment to excellence, safety, and sustainability in all laboratory operations.
Key Responsibilities
As a Chemical Technical Officer, your duties will include:
- Planning, organizing, and managing laboratory workflows efficiently.
- Performing accurate chemical and physical analyses according to set standards.
- Supporting fault diagnosis related to plant chemistry and oil quality.
- Ensuring full compliance with health, safety, and quality requirements.
- Contributing to the cost-effectiveness and continuous improvement of laboratory operations.
- Assisting supervisors with administrative, analytical, and technical tasks.
You’ll be part of a skilled and diverse team working on critical chemical testing that ensures the safe and reliable performance of Eskom’s generation and transmission assets.
Minimum Requirements
Qualification(s):
National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry or Chemical Engineering (NQF Level 6 with 240 credits).
Experience:
Completed Practical Training (P1 & P2) with relevant laboratory experience.
