The Opportunity

We’re seeking a motivated Manufacturing Engineering (ME) Trainee/Intern to join our dynamic team in Pretoria (Rosslyn) on a 12-month contract. This is an exceptional opportunity for recent graduates to launch their engineering career with a global leader in automotive technology.

Your Role

As an ME Trainee, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring optimal manufacturing processes that support our production operations. You’ll work hands-on with industry-leading tools and methodologies while contributing to the production of components that meet exacting customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process Excellence: Participate in reviewing and maintaining process FMEAs, flow diagrams, and SREA submissions
  • Documentation Management: Create, maintain, and audit accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) and master data systems
  • Continuous Improvement: Support production efficiency through process productivity analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving initiatives
  • Technical Support: Maintain manufacturing process documents for newly implemented machinery and equipment
  • Operational Standards: Ensure compliance with FES and HSE standards while establishing manufacturing routines aligned with takt time and cycle time requirements
  • Layout Optimization: Participate in plant layout updates and process flow improvements
  • Best Practice Development: Capitalize on lessons learned and contribute to the process specialist network

What We’re Looking For

Essential Qualifications

  • National Diploma (or equivalent) in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Proficiency in computer systems and software applications
  • Strong command of written and spoken English
