The South African Breweries (SAB), a subsidiary of AB InBev — the world’s leading brewer with operations in nearly 50 countries — is inviting applications from talented recent graduates to join its prestigious Graduate Management Trainee (GMT) Programme for 2026.
With over a century of heritage and a legacy built by thousands of GMTs across the globe, this is one of the most sought-after graduate programmes in South Africa’s FMCG sector. SAB has grown to become South Africa’s largest brewer, operating 7 breweries and 42 depots nationwide, employing approximately 5 000 people, and supporting a beer economy of over 250 000 jobs from seed to sip. The company’s iconic brand portfolio includes Castle Lager, Carling Black Label, Corona, Brutal Fruit, and Flying Fish.
About the Programme
The GMT Programme is a structured rotational experience designed to identify, develop, and fast-track high-potential graduates into future leaders of the business. Rooted in AB InBev’s strategic pillars — Lead and Grow the Category, Digitize and Monetize our Ecosystem, and Optimize our Business — the programme places trainees at the heart of the company’s most critical functions.
Trainees will rotate through front-line Sales and front-line Supply Chain teams, with an additional rotation determined by business need. These placements span a variety of settings, including field offices and brewery environments, giving participants an immersive, ground-level understanding of the business.
Upon successful completion of the programme, GMTs will transition into full-time roles within SAB’s Sales or Supply Chain divisions, positioning them for accelerated career growth within a truly global organisation.
What SAB Offers
Joining the GMT Programme means becoming part of something far greater than an individual career. Trainees gain access to a global network of professionals, exposure to world-class business practices, and the opportunity to make a measurable impact on one of South Africa’s most admired companies. SAB believes in rewarding talent at the pace it grows — and the GMT Programme is built to do exactly that.
Who Should Apply
SAB is looking for ambitious, driven, and curious graduates who are ready to take ownership of their careers from day one. The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognised institution
- Be proficient in English (spoken and written)
- Have no formal full-time work experience, or a maximum of two years’ full-time experience (prior internship experience is advantageous)
- Be fully mobile and willing to relocate or travel as required during the programme
- Demonstrate a problem-solving mindset, collaborative spirit, and the ability to work at pace
Why SAB
SAB is more than a beer company. Anchored in a purpose — We Dream Big to Create a Future With More Cheers — the business is a powerful economic contributor, a leader in sustainability, and a champion of responsible consumption across South Africa. At SAB, the belief is simple: great people should grow at the pace of their talent.
