African Ideas is hiring 5 interns for a 12-month Power Platform program in Cape Town. Build Power Apps, automate workflows, work on real digital transformation projects. Graduates in IT/CS welcome, no experience required. Closes 7 August 2026.

Are you a recent graduate ready to launch your career in technology and digital transformation? African Ideas is opening its doors to 5 talented interns for a 12-month program built around Microsoft’s Power Platform ecosystem — Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse, SharePoint and Azure.

This is a hands-on opportunity to work alongside experienced developers, business analysts and project managers on real solutions for government institutions and businesses across South Africa.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Building Canvas Apps and model-driven applications with Power Apps
  • Designing automated workflows and approval processes in Power Automate
  • Supporting Dataverse and SharePoint configuration and management
  • Contributing to Power BI reports and dashboards
  • Participating in requirements sessions, demos and team meetings
  • Testing applications, identifying defects and troubleshooting
  • Preparing technical documentation and user guides
  • Learning application governance and deployment standards

Who We’re Looking For

  • A completed diploma or degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Development, Business Information Systems, or a related field
  • Interest in low-code development, business process automation and digital transformation
  • Basic knowledge of software development concepts, databases or business processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn and take feedback

No prior professional experience is required — academic projects, personal projects and portfolios are welcome as evidence of your skills.

Advantageous: experience with any Microsoft technology (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Azure, Teams, 365), SQL, HTML/CSS/JavaScript, hackathon participation, or understanding of Agile/SDLC.
