Momentum Group is looking for a Data Analyst Intern to join the Digital and Technology CRO Office, supporting the development of automated assurance and data analytics capabilities. About the Role

Reporting to the Head of IT Governance and Automated Assurance, the Data Analyst Intern will support the growth of data analytics capabilities within the CRO Office, working in close collaboration with Group IT and the wider Momentum Group Risk Community. Automated assurance uses existing business data to provide a clear view of the control environment, and this role plays a key part in building that capability.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create Power BI models and visualisations that provide a view of the control environment
  • Identify, acquire, prepare, and merge data from a wide range of business source systems and data sources
  • Build strong relationships with Group Technology to support data acquisition from business systems
  • Find innovative ways to access data generated from business-as-usual processes and tools
  • Create visualisations that provide simple and effective management information
  • Combine visualisations from various sources into a total picture of the control environment
  • Assist in planning, developing, and executing data analysis procedures to create sustainable, repeatable analytics and dashboards
  • Maintain proficiency with MS Power BI and other data analytics tools

Qualifications

  • BCom (Information Systems) or BSc (Computer Science/Information Systems), honours preferred
  • Relevant data analytics certifications (advantageous)
  • Relevant coding certification (advantageous)

Experience

  • Some proven experience in data analytics, whether through university projects or vacation work

Competencies

  • Strong data analytics skills and aptitude
  • Project management skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • A reasonable understanding of information security and risk management is an advantage
