Gijima, one of South Africa’s leading ICT companies, is seeking talented and driven Digital Media Interns to join its team in Midrand, Gauteng. This is an exciting opportunity for recently qualified graduates with a passion for digital content creation, social media management, and multimedia production to gain hands-on industry experience in a dynamic technology environment.
About the Role
The successful candidates will assist with content creation, social media management, podcast and video production, as well as general digital media support. This internship is designed for individuals who are creative, detail-oriented, and eager to apply their multimedia skills in a professional corporate setting.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Applicants must have completed a 3-year tertiary qualification (National Diploma, degree, or diploma) in Information Technology, with relevance to Multimedia — such as a National Diploma IT Multimedia, Graphic Design, or Bachelor of Information Science Multimedia. Candidates must also be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for this internship, candidates must meet all of the following requirements:
- Must currently be unemployed
- Must not be participating in any other learnership or internship programme
- Must not be studying at any other institution, including via distance learning
- Must reside in the greater Midrand area — relocation is NOT an option
- Must be under the age of 35 as of 1 April 2026
- Must be a South African citizen (African, White, Coloured, or Indian)
- Must have no criminal record
Core Responsibilities
Interns will be expected to contribute across the following areas:
- Audio and video editing for podcasts and digital content production
- Videography support, including setting up video equipment and shooting interviews
- Podcast production — recording, editing, and publishing
- Content distribution across social media platforms including Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and X/Twitter
Candidates must demonstrate strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent verbal and written communication skills, a solid command of the English language, good time management and organisational ability, and the capacity to work effectively within a team.
Required Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Canva, Figma, Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Audacity or equivalent, and the Adobe Creative Suite
- Basic videography skills, including operating cameras, setting up lighting, and interview shooting
- Podcast production, editing, and publishing
- Social media content creation and scheduling
Added advantage: familiarity with Spotify for Podcasters, Buzzsprout or similar podcast hosting platforms, as well as copywriting or caption writing skills.
