A leading agricultural and industrial employer based in Amatikulu, uThungulu District, KwaZulu-Natal, is offering apprenticeship opportunities for individuals seeking to build a career in a skilled trade. These positions are offered under the auspices of the Department of Labour, in partnership with Agri-SETA, and provide structured, hands-on training leading to formal trade qualifications.
Three positions are available:
- Apprentice Instrument (X1)
- Apprentice Electrical (X1)
- Apprentice Boilermaker (X1)
This is an excellent opportunity for young South Africans with a strong foundation in mathematics and science to enter a recognised trade through practical, on-the-job training combined with formal instruction.
Main Purpose of the Role
Successful candidates will be indentured as Apprentices in their designated trade and will undertake a comprehensive training programme in accordance with Agri-SETA requirements and Department of Labour regulations. This structured pathway is designed to equip apprentices with the practical skills, theoretical knowledge, and workplace experience needed to qualify as a competent tradesperson.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete the full indentureship programme as prescribed by Agri-SETA
- Attend and successfully complete all required theoretical training modules
- Gain practical experience under the supervision of qualified artisans
- Adhere to workplace health and safety standards at all times
- Maintain accurate training and progress records as required by the programme
- Demonstrate commitment to learning and professional development throughout the apprenticeship
Qualifications and Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12) with Mathematics and Physical Science
- NTC 2 certificate in the relevant trade discipline
- Previous work experience is not required; however, exposure to an industrial environment would be advantageous
- Self-driven with a strong work ethic
- Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt within a technical, industrial setting
