Epiroc, a global leader in mining and construction productivity solutions, is inviting applications for its Apprenticeship Programme based in Krugersdorp, Gauteng. This is a structured, hands-on programme offered within the Equipment and Service business area, specifically within the Rebuild department. Epiroc is recruiting motivated and technically inclined individuals who are ready to build a solid career foundation in engineering and service technology.
The programme offers positions across four trades:
- 2 x Millwright
- 2 x Fitter
- 2 x Turner Machinist
- 2 x Tool, Jig and Die Maker
About the Programme
This apprenticeship is designed to equip candidates with practical engineering skills while providing structured mentorship from experienced industry professionals. As an apprentice, you will be integrated into a real working environment — contributing to equipment maintenance and rebuild processes from day one, not just observing from the sidelines.
You will be supported through formal training sessions, workshops, and coaching tailored to your development as a technical professional. Epiroc’s programme is built around meaningful work, continuous improvement, and the belief that great engineers are developed through both theory and practice.
Responsibilities
As an apprentice within this programme, you will:
- Support the Rebuild department by performing hands-on technical duties related to equipment maintenance and rebuild processes
- Participate in research activities and assist in preparing reports that contribute to ongoing service improvements
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with company standards and compliance requirements
- Adhere strictly to health and safety policies and demonstrate ethical conduct in all tasks
- Show initiative and an eagerness to develop new skills and contribute ideas for continuous improvement
Minimum Requirements
Education:
- Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate) with at least two languages, including English
- Mathematics (Pure or Technical) and Science are required
- A minimum of two additional subjects
- Engineering Graphics and Design or Engineering Drawing will be advantageous
- An Engineering Diploma (Mechanical or Electrical) will be beneficial but is not required
Technical:
- Minimum N2 qualification with Fitting Theory and Electrical Theory
- Basic knowledge of electronics will be advantageous
Experience:
- Any exposure to an engineering or workshop environment is an advantage
Personal Attributes:
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to learn and develop technical expertise
- Ability to work effectively within a team
- Must be 18 years of age or older
Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete assessments as part of the selection process.
