Greater Tzaneen Municipality is offering 55 internship positions across Community Services, Civil Engineering, Engineering Services, Electrical Engineering, and Corporate Services. Fixed-term 12-month contracts pay R78,000 per annum. Closing date: 27 August 2026.


Greater Tzaneen Municipality is inviting applications from qualified candidates for its Internship Programme. This is a fixed-term contract opportunity spanning twelve (12) months, offering young graduates practical workplace exposure across various municipal departments.

Salary: R78,000.00 per annum, less statutory deductions
Duration: Fixed-term contract of twelve (12) months

AVAILABLE POSITIONS

Community Services Department
10 positions for candidates holding a Bachelor of Library and Information Science.

Civil Engineering Department
10 positions for candidates holding a Diploma in Civil Engineering.

Engineering Services Department
10 positions for candidates holding a Diploma in Water Science Technology or Plant Operation.

Electrical Engineering Services Department
10 positions for candidates holding a Diploma in Electrical Engineering.

Corporate Services Department
10 positions for candidates holding a Diploma in Public Administration.
5 positions for candidates holding a Diploma in Information Technology.

IMPORTANT CONDITIONS

Fraudulent qualifications or documents will result in immediate disqualification. Any candidate found canvassing a councillor or senior official for preferential treatment will be disqualified immediately from the selection process, or from any subsequent appointment.

Short-listed applicants will undergo screening for criminal records and any pending criminal cases, and their qualifications will be independently verified. Applicants who are not invited for an interview should regard their applications as unsuccessful. The Council reserves the right, at all times, not to make an appointment.
