Hollard International is inviting applications from ambitious, technology-driven graduates to join its IT Graduate Programme for a 12-month contract based in Parktown, Gauteng. Three positions are available across the Hollard International and Hollard Health IT division, offering a rare opportunity to gain hands-on experience at one of South Africa’s most respected insurance groups.

About the Role

This is not a passive learning experience. Hollard is looking for a change agent — someone who understands the business, identifies what needs to change, documents those changes, engages the IT team, and ensures correct implementation. Over the course of the 12-month contract, you will develop a well-rounded understanding of technology, finance, and underwriting, positioning yourself as a versatile professional in the insurance and financial services sector.

Key Responsibilities

As an IT Graduate, you will serve as the vital link between business users and developers. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include gathering, understanding, and documenting business requirements; functional testing of software releases against defined success criteria; release management and deployment coordination; system documentation management; and user request evaluations. You will also contribute to project reporting and status tracking, ensuring that all stakeholders remain informed and aligned throughout the project lifecycle.

In addition, you will have the opportunity to develop specialised skills in one or more of the following areas: Database Development, Database Administration, Application Development, IT and Cyber Security, IT Operations, and Release Management.

What Hollard Is Looking For

Successful candidates will hold a tertiary IT or Computer Sciences degree from a recognised university. Your academic background should be complemented by practical project work that demonstrates an understanding of both technology and business operations.

On the technical side, you should possess strong business writing skills, presentation and facilitation abilities, and a working understanding of general IT operations and principles. Exposure to any of the specialist areas listed above will be a distinct advantage.

Beyond technical competence, Hollard values graduates who are eager to learn, self-motivated, and capable of working under pressure to meet project deadlines. You should be customer and user-centric in your approach, with a genuine interest in insurance and financial business processes. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to facilitate engagements with both small and large groups are equally important.
