The Opportunity

A fixed-term contract opportunity has arisen for a motivated and recently qualified IT graduate to join WCBS as an IT Intern. Purpose of the Role

The IT Intern will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the ICT environment, with a particular focus on the End User Computing Environment and the implementation and support of third-party applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend to and resolve IT calls logged within specified SLAs, with a focus on minimising operational impact and downtime
  • Prepare, install, support, and maintain IT infrastructure across the organisation
  • Perform infrastructure administration through regularly scheduled and ad-hoc tasks
  • Conduct initial investigations into security and privacy-related incidents, ensuring timely escalation where necessary

Minimum Requirements

  • Recently completed National Diploma or Degree in Information Systems (or a related IT field)
  • Code B Driver’s Licence without endorsements — essential
  • Microsoft, A+, or N+ certification is advantageous
  • Practical experience with Microsoft Windows and Office applications
  • Solid knowledge of desktop/laptop hardware and peripheral devices
  • Basic understanding of Information Security principles
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment
