Knowledge Mining Academy (KMA) is offering an 18-month Electrical Engineering Internship based in Irene, Centurion, Gauteng. This programme is designed to give qualifying graduates hands-on, workplace-integrated experience that bridges the gap between academic study and professional engineering practice.

The internship is open to candidates who hold a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering — specifically those whose qualification includes a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) component that still needs to be completed. Graduates from TUT or CPUT will find that the WIL requirement is built directly into the programme structure, making this an ideal fit. Candidates from other institutions such as VUT or DUT are welcome to apply, provided they have at least one additional year of experience within an electronics company.

This opportunity targets Indian Female, African Male, and African Female candidates in line with KMA’s Diversity and Inclusion focus.

What the Programme Offers

Interns will receive a monthly stipend of R8 000 and gain exposure to real-world engineering environments through structured, industry-relevant projects. The programme is built around:

  • Real-world workplace integrated experience
  • Exposure to industry projects and technologies
  • Mentorship and professional development
  • Opportunities for future employment within KMA’s talent pool

All candidates are required to complete a comprehensive pre-assessment before interviews are conducted.

Minimum Requirements

  • National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (completed)
  • Qualification must include a WIL component
  • TUT/CPUT graduates: WIL built into qualification is sufficient
  • VUT/DUT or other institutions: minimum one additional year of experience within an electronic company required
  • Age limit: 28 years
