Magalies Water is inviting unemployed graduates and students to apply for its Internship Programme 2026–2028 — a 24-month structured work experience initiative designed to equip young South Africans with the practical skills needed to thrive in the water services sector.
Successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend of R7 500.00 and will be placed across several of Magalies Water’s operational sites in the North West Province, including Brits WTW, Vaalkop WTW, Mafikeng, Padda Junction Projects, and the Head Office. Applicants must be South African citizens between the ages of 18 and 35 years.
Available Positions
Magalies Water is recruiting interns across the following departments and disciplines:
1. Projects and Engineering — Civil & Mechanical Engineering
Locations: Mafikeng, Brits WTW, Vaalkop WTW, Padda Junction Projects
Minimum Qualification: NQF Level 6 in Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering
Number of Interns: 5
2. Projects and Engineering — GIS/Geomatics
Location: Brits Lab
Minimum Qualification: BSc Geomatics or equivalent
Number of Interns: 1
3. Water Services — Mechanical
Location: Vaalkop WTW
Minimum Qualification: S4 Mechanical Engineering / N-Diploma Mechanical / Bachelor of Engineering Technology in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Number of Interns: 1
4. Water Services — Production
Location: Vaalkop WTW
Minimum Qualification: NDip Water Care, Chemical Engineering or equivalent
Number of Interns: 1
5. Corporate Services — ICT Department
Locations: Brits Lab, Head Office, Mafikeng (Far West)
Minimum Qualification: Minimum Degree in Information Technology / Systems or equivalent
Number of Interns: 3
