The National Gambling Board (NGB) is inviting unemployed graduates to apply for two (2) Information Communication and Technology Internship positions. This is a valuable opportunity for first-time workplace exposure in a dynamic regulatory environment, and the NGB is committed to developing South Africa’s next generation of ICT talent.

Stipend: R12,000 per month
Contract Duration: Twelve (12) months — non-renewable
Closing Date: 26 May 2026

About the Opportunity

The NGB’s internship programme exists to bridge the gap between academic qualification and professional experience. Selected interns will gain hands-on exposure to ICT operations within a public sector organisation that plays a critical role in regulating South Africa’s gambling industry. This is not merely a theoretical engagement — successful candidates will be immersed in real workplace responsibilities that will lay a solid foundation for their careers in information technology and computer science.

The programme is specifically designed for graduates who have never previously participated in any internship programme, whether in the private or public sector. Applicants who have already completed any form of workplace internship will not be considered and will be disqualified from the process.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this internship, applicants must hold a three (3) year National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science. Candidates must be unemployed at the time of application.

Preference will be given to previously disadvantaged candidates and persons living with disabilities, in line with the NGB’s commitment to transformation and inclusive opportunity.

Application Requirements

Failure to submit all required documentation will result in automatic disqualification. Applicants are urged to ensure that their application packages are complete before submission. Candidates holding foreign qualifications are required to have these verified by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) and must submit proof of such verification alongside their application.

Shortlisted candidates will be subjected to Personnel Suitability checks and security clearance as part of the selection process. Feedback will only be provided to shortlisted candidates, who will be contacted regarding interview dates and times as determined by the NGB.

POPIA Consent

By submitting an application, candidates acknowledge and consent to the NGB processing their personal information as part of the recruitment process. The NGB will take all reasonable measures to protect applicants’ personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

How to Apply

Interested and qualifying candidates are encouraged to apply before the closing date of 26 May 2026. Do not delay — this is a fixed deadline and late applications will not be entertained.
