Eskom’s Ingula Power Station is recruiting a Technician C&I (Grade T11) for its Maintenance C&I department. This permanent position sits within the Engineering, Technical, Production and Manufacturing category and offers market-related remuneration. It is designated an Employment Equity position, with applications closing on 26 August 2026.
The role is central to assuring optimum reliability and availability of plant at Ingula Power Station. The successful candidate will maintain the optimisation of their allocated system, verify that the correct components, spares, and services are procured, and assist with modifications aimed at improving plant reliability. The position also carries a development mandate: advising and assisting with staff development, and contributing to a culture of coaching, mentoring, and team growth. Beyond day-to-day maintenance duties, the Technician C&I will perform project and contract supervision activities, and must comply fully with Eskom’s permit to work system at all times.
Eskom is looking for candidates who bring integrity, honesty, trustworthiness, and professionalism to the role, alongside strong leadership qualities such as being a team player, motivating teams, and driving development through coaching and mentoring. On the technical side, applicants should have extensive knowledge of National and International Engineering Codes and Standards, familiarity with plant fundamental policies, sound safety knowledge, an understanding of HV/LV regulations, and a solid grasp of quality control principles. Core skills required include analysing, problem solving, communication, diagnosis, and computer literacy.
Minimum requirements
- A National Diploma or National N Diploma (Technical) in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Control Systems, Mechatronics, or Process Instrumentation
- Related experience in Maintenance
- P1 and P2 Experiential Training
