Exxaro is an organisation that understands the importance of investing in South Africa’s youth. Through its Leeuwpan Mine in Delmas, Exxaro offers structured internship opportunities designed to give students and recent graduates the practical exposure they need — either to complete their qualifications or to gain the experiential learning required to enter the world of work with confidence.

Exxaro recognises that many students struggle to access the practical component of their studies, and that graduates often find themselves without the workplace exposure needed to build a career. These internships are a direct response to that challenge, providing real-world experience across multiple disciplines at one of South Africa’s leading coal mining operations.

Available Internship Disciplines

Exxaro Leeuwpan Mine is offering internships across the following fields:

• Information Management – For students holding or studying towards a Bachelor’s Degree, BTech, or N Diploma in IT, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a relevant certificate programme.
• Business Improvement – Open to students with an N Diploma in Industrial Engineering.
• Metallurgy – For those holding or completing an N Diploma or BTech in Metallurgical Engineering.
• Supply Chain – Open to students with a Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, Business Management, Law, or a related field.
• Mining – For students holding or completing a Degree in Industrial or Mining Engineering.

Each internship is aligned to the practical component of the respective qualification, or is suitable for graduates from a relevant tertiary institution seeking structured exposure in their field.

Business Unit: Leeuwpan | Grading: Allowance | VKLM
The internships are based at Leeuwpan Mine in Delmas, Mpumalanga. Preference will be given to candidates from the VKLM area.

Requirements

All applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

• Certificate of medical fitness for duty (essential)
• IPS / Psychometric assessment (essential)
