Are you an aspiring electrician looking to gain hands-on experience in a real manufacturing environment? Freedom Stationery is offering an exciting Electrical Apprentice / Trainee opportunity for a motivated individual who is ready to learn, grow, and build a solid foundation in the electrical trade. This is your chance to work alongside experienced professionals, develop practical skills, and take the first meaningful step in your electrical career.
About the Role
As an Electrical Apprentice / Trainee at Freedom Stationery, you will be embedded in a fast-paced production environment where you will support the Senior Electrician with day-to-day electrical maintenance and repair work. You will gain direct exposure to production machinery on PP and LD lines, giving you practical insight into industrial electrical systems that textbooks simply cannot replicate.
This is a supervised, learning-focused role designed to bridge the gap between your studies and the demands of a professional manufacturing setting. You will be guided, mentored, and developed at every stage.
What You Will Be Doing
You will assist the Senior Electrician with daily maintenance and repair tasks across the facility, supporting the troubleshooting of electrical faults on production machinery. Routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance of electrical systems will form a core part of your responsibilities, helping to ensure that production runs smoothly and downtime is minimised.
You will also assist with basic installations, wiring, and panel work under direct supervision, and will be responsible for maintaining accurate maintenance records and job cards. Participation in internal training and skills development programmes is expected, as Freedom Stationery is committed to investing in the growth of its apprentices.
Safety is non-negotiable. You will be required to learn and consistently adhere to all safety, quality, and company procedures from day one.
What You Need to Qualify
Candidates must be currently studying or have recently completed an N3 or N4 qualification, or an equivalent, in Electrical Engineering or the Electrical Trade. A basic understanding of electrical systems and components is required, along with the willingness to learn and apply yourself in a manufacturing environment.
You must be able to follow instructions, work effectively under supervision, and demonstrate good communication skills. A positive attitude and a genuine awareness of safety practices are equally important.
Advantageous Skills
If you have had prior exposure to industrial machinery or factory environments, this will strengthen your application. A basic understanding of PLCs or control panels, and the ability to read basic electrical diagrams, are additional competencies that will be viewed favourably.
How to Apply
This is a competitive opportunity and suitable candidates are encouraged to apply without delay.
